Twitch Launches Recaps Spotlight to Promote Stream Clips Beyond Twitch

Twitch announced on Oct. 27, 2026, that it is launching Recaps Spotlight, a new clip-promotion program tied to Stream Recaps. Twitch says the goal is to help standout clips travel beyond Twitch while still crediting the streamer and sending viewers back to the channel.

What Twitch announced

Recaps Spotlight is the first program built around Twitch’s effort to promote streamer clips beyond the platform. In Twitch’s explanation, selected clips from a Stream Recap may be shared on social platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. Twitch says promoted clips will still credit the creator and point viewers back to the channel.

The company also says community engagement helps surface clips worth promoting. That said, promotion is selective. Twitch says participating does not guarantee that a clip will be chosen, and any clip considered for promotion must meet eligibility and safety standards.

Who can use it right now

  • Partners first: Twitch says the initial rollout is limited to Partners, with Affiliates only a possible future addition.
  • Opt-in only: Streamers who want in must enable the feature through Clip Settings on Web.
  • No extra cost: Twitch says there is no cost to the streamer.
  • Streamers stay in control: Participation is optional, and settings can be changed at any time.

What streamers should do now

If you are a Partner, review your Stream Recaps regularly and curate them carefully. Twitch says the more consistently a streamer reviews and curates their recaps, the more content is available to be considered for promotion.

That makes Recaps Spotlight more useful as a clip workflow than as a one-click growth hack. The strongest clips are more likely to be considered if they are already part of a well-curated recap, so streamers should treat post-stream clip review as part of their normal process.

For small and midsize streamers, the takeaway is simple: if you have Partner access, this is a new reason to be deliberate about clips, recap curation, and discovery. If you are not a Partner yet, Twitch says Affiliates may be added later, but that is not part of the current rollout.
